research

Research at CIR is roughlygrouped around 3 research lines. The borders are very transparent, and usually people collaborate across the topics.

Computer Aided Diagnosis and Quantification

nullComputer aided diagnosis is the most clinically oriented part of our research. Projects include the automatic quantification of rheumatoid arthritis, the measurement of lower limb alignment, or monitoring of osteoporosis.

Models and Anatomy

nullLearning models from data, and applying them during the analysis of medical image data, is one of our main lines of research. We work on methods to perform increasingly un-supervised learning from medical image data. These models are employed during the localization and segmentation of anatomical structures.

Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition

nullBesides the work directly motivated by clinical research and application during therapy, we perform research in computer vision and pattern recognition. It is independent from the purely clinical motivation, but forms the basis of the clinically relevant work, and serves as a fruitful experiment bed for new ideas.
